Hi, I’m Gini — though if you ask Starbucks, it’s Gina, Jenny, Jeanie, or “close enough.” I’m 60, which means I creak when I wake up, color my hair every 5 weeks, and have made peace with my wrinkles (mostly). I’ve been married to my fellow self-employed partner-in-chaos, Bill, for 33 years. We have three fully grown, allegedly adult children and after crisscrossing the country, we now call Arizona home — though I call it Satan’s oven most of the year.

 

I’m funny, sarcastic, and a professional overthinker (the pay is terrible). Loyal to a fault, fiercely passionate, and the kind of strong-willed that makes people say “Wow… she’s a lot.” Coffee is my lifeblood (the darker, the better), kombucha is my backup plan, and food is meh — unless it’s something someone else cooked.

 

I hike with my dogs, Luca and Bella, when the weather isn’t trying to kill me. I wear flip flops or Chucks exclusively. I’m a Free People fangirl, I curse way too much (especially during football), and I IMDb every actor I’ve ever seen… in everything. My favorite emoji is 🙄. It’s a lifestyle, not a mood.

 

I owned my first flower shop back in the Yellow Pages era before taking an 18-year detour as “Mom.” Now I’m back doing what I love most: designing flowers, making beautiful messes, and wondering how the hell there are 75,000 other florists in Phoenix. I built my dream studio from the ground up — part flower wonderland, part therapy session, all heart.

 

Fun (and very random) Gini Facts:

    •    Red pen > any pen.

    •    Volume and temp must be on an EVEN number.

    •    I believe in mediums and the afterlife.

    •    I have six tattoos and a weakness for more.

    •    Never had a massage (yes, seriously).

    •    No foundation. Just eye makeup and vibes.

    •    Grew up on Italian opera. Will tolerate all music except country.

    •    I’ve met Seal multiple times (yes, the singer).

    •    Cancer sun sign, and sadly, cancer has taken many I love.

    •    Learned to swim as an adult. Still prefer the beach to the pool.

    •    Can’t sleep. Ever.

    •    Purple is my color.

    •    Caribbean retirement plan: weave baskets, read, tan, and nap.
